Meet Ashley Adoko, MA, LCPC

Ashley Adoko, LCPC is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and the founder of Soul Prosper Counseling. With over a decade of experience in mental health and community-based work, Ashley provides counseling to adult women navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and the lasting impact of unresolved experiences. She is known for being real, down to earth, and authentic, creating a therapy space that feels honest, supportive, and free from pressure to perform or have it all together.

Work with Women and Mothers

Ashley primarily works with women, including postpartum mothers, who are navigating identity shifts, emotional exhaustion, anxiety, and the pressure to hold everything together while caring for others. Many of the women she serves struggle with overthinking, self-doubt, people-pleasing, and difficulty trusting themselves in demanding or unfamiliar seasons of life. Therapy focuses on helping clients feel more emotionally steady, grounded, and confident in how they respond to stress and change.

Work with Professionals and Leaders

In addition to her work with women and mothers, Ashley has extensive experience supporting professionals and leaders across sectors including government, church and ministry settings, business, and community organizations. Her work with leaders often centers on stress management, decision fatigue, emotional regulation, and boundary-setting. Clients value Ashley’s ability to speak plainly, understand the weight of responsibility, and provide thoughtful guidance without minimizing the complexity of leadership roles.

Clinical Approach

Ashley’s approach to therapy is practical, collaborative, and rooted in real life. Sessions are not about endlessly revisiting the past or simply venting, but about understanding what is driving your thoughts, emotions, and reactions so meaningful change can happen. Many clients come in feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated because coping strategies have only worked temporarily. Together, Ashley and her clients slow things down to identify patterns that often go unnoticed, such as why certain situations trigger strong emotional responses or why anxiety feels difficult to turn off.

Therapy focuses on building awareness, strengthening emotional regulation, and creating practical shifts that support everyday life. Clients learn how to move out of survival mode, respond instead of react, and build healthier internal and relational patterns. Ashley is direct, honest, and down to earth, offering insight and feedback in a way that feels supportive rather than judgmental. Sessions are structured yet flexible, allowing space for real conversation while still moving toward clear and meaningful goals.

Ashley does not offer quick fixes. Her work is centered on steady, sustainable progress that helps clients feel more confident, grounded, and equipped long after therapy ends. The goal is not just short-term relief, but lasting emotional stability and a stronger foundation for navigating life’s challenges.

Background and Experience

Throughout her career, Ashley has worked across private practice, nonprofit, faith-based, and public sectors. She has developed and led outreach and educational initiatives focused on mental health awareness, emotional wellness, domestic violence prevention, socioeconomic equity, human trafficking education, and women’s empowerment.

In addition to her clinical work, Ashley is a speaker and educator who has facilitated workshops, trainings, and conversations on mental and emotional health for diverse audiences. She is known for her ability to connect genuinely with people and communicate complex emotional topics in a way that feels clear and relatable.

Ashley holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and completed her graduate studies through Liberty University, with additional training at Bethel Seminary and Capital Seminary & Graduate School. She is licensed to practice in the state of Maryland.

Through Soul Prosper Counseling, Ashley offers an evidence-based, relational approach to therapy that supports women, mothers, and leaders as they move from emotional survival toward greater clarity, confidence, and emotional steadiness.

What Therapy Looks Like Here

Therapy at Soul Prosper Counseling is reflective, collaborative, and client-centered. Sessions provide space to slow down, explore emotional patterns, and better understand how depression, anxiety, or overwhelm are showing up in your life.

Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, therapy explores how your internal experiences connect to your environment, relationships, and current season of life.

Who This Is a Good Fit For

This practice may be a good fit if you are seeking support for:

  • Depression or persistent low mood

  • Anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm

  • Postpartum adjustment or identity changes

  • Life transitions and relational challenges

Clients who benefit most are open to reflection and interested in understanding themselves more deeply.

Scope and Fit

Soul Prosper Counseling does not provide crisis services, intensive case management, or immediate symptom-elimination treatment. Referrals are provided when a different level of care is more appropriate.
